Sunday-Lazy Day

7 07 2008

So, once again we were tired and didn’t necessarily have any plans for the day.  That meant there was no real reason to get out of bed too early.  So we stayed in bed until 1038, which is unusual for both of us normally.  We even had a conversation about that particular topic while we were lounging.  When we finally did get up, not much was open anyway-because almost everything is closed here on Sunday-we watched our 1 TV channel and luckily we were able to catch the men’s finals at Wimbledon.  Oh and just in case you were wondering, the one TV channel is en Espanol, not English (duh, we’re in Spain).  Luckily numbers are universal.

After one of the rain delays, we walked down to the Pub Piazza to get out of the apt.  We had a delicious strawberry daquiri (not as good as the one at Austin) and a very strong mojito!!  We had to wind our way home after the mojito, but did make dinner and watch Nadal beat Federer.  While we were imbibing alcoholic beverages and watching Tennis, the Cathedral behind us started a mass.  Multitudes of the townspeople went to the service.  We would have gone in the church to see it, but they didn’t want people wandering around when the service was starting, and for some reason the church doors don’t seem to be open otherwise.  The inspiring churchbells chimed at the start of the service .  That inspired the padre to come out of the pub to go to the service!
